Just had a lovely two-night stay. The Hotel is clean, everything you need is supplied in the room. Staff are great, food was great, location brilliant. I will be back. Thank you everyone at The George Montrose

What a lovely surprise, we went in for lunch with a family member who lives locally for a light lunch, it was way above expectations, soup and sandwich was superb, the soup was a thick creamy chicken and leek one and the crispy tuna sandwich was so full it was overflowing, all this for ￡12.95pp, the only slight downside was a glass of mediocre wine was ￡7.15. We noticed a couple of curries being served to other diners and the portions looked huge, overall well worth a visit

A warmly welcoming hotel full of characters in a very pretty village offering a great base to explore the area. Large comfortable room and a great value breakfast. Lively traditional pub downstairs with a decent pub restaurant. Really enjoyed our stay.

Been coming to the George for a lot of years, delighted to see it’s back to its vibrant best, as the last visit was abysmal . The new management team and staff have got it spot on with knowing what works in this particular location. Good beer, good food, rooms nice, staff absolutely professional. No parking charges issues. Will return again. Ciaran.

Pleasant and helpful staff. Our double room was tiny and dated, overlooking the car park. It’s a very old pub so size of room can be excused, however the poor sleep quality, due to a very poor, cheap, mattress cannot. Providing a comfortable mattres is the most basic of needs and entirely easy to fix, so very disappointing. We would not stay at The George Hotel again as a result.

Great stay Lovely Isle Of Man pub situated in the historic centre of Castletown. Friendly staff and great food. Highly recommended.

Stayed here for four nights. The hotel is lovely, we would definitely stay here again. The full English breakfast was very fresh and warm. The staff work tirelessly to make sure everything runs smoothly, they can’t do enough for you. Our room was on the third floor 52 steps! No lift. I’m sure the staff would help carry your case if you asked, it’s not for the infirm though. Sadly our room while lovely and clean with everything you would need had a frosted window. If we stayed again we would ask for a room with a clear window. On the nights they had entertainment it was noisy in the room. We parked in the railway car park for the week ￡52 it’s almost opposite the hotel.

What a wonderful hotel. We booked a 10 night holiday with Jet2 and couldn't have been happier. Lovely clean room, in a quiet location but within a very short walk of the centre of Nidri and the beach/harbour. Staff very friendly, breakfast was lovely with ample choice. Pool area was very relaxed and ideal for us. Loved watching the swallows flying around during the daytime. We would highly recommend and definitely consider going back to this lovely hotel.
