Well The George, you certainly lived up to the great reviews that others have been giving you. It was a very pleasant experience for me staying with you, with all the staff extreme courteous and very helpful. The facilities were top notch and the food and drinks were very good. What I loved most was the fact it was a quiet boutique hotel which was an oasis from the hustle and bustle of my short and busy trip. Well done. Please keep up the good service and congratulations to the management team who help run such a great hotel.
So often reality is not as good as the photos. This hotel is fab. Our room really was as nice as the photos. The grounds are exceptionally well cared for. The pool area is a joy to relax in. Breakfast buffet is generous. Different delicious pastries every day. And the staff are so helpful and friendly. Why pay more?
We dined here on a Thursday which is the regular steak night. Tremendous value - two steaks for under ￡20. Beautiful taste and beautifully cooked. Worth a visit. They also do a curry night on a Wednesday.

I hoped for a local experience rather than a tourist experience and that's what I got. The people were welcoming and the food great. Location wise a short walk to the sea, the castle and the shops.
I can't praise this hotel highly enough. I went with my sister (end of September 2023). We both had a double, en-suite room with balcony. The rooms were amazingly clean, spacious and comfortable and the views were lovely. My room overlooked lush vegetation and the swimming pool and my sister's overlooked the mountains. Breakfast is a buffet with an array of delicious foods. The hotel is located in a quiet road but just around the corner is the main village of Nidri where there is everything you need including a vast array of wonderful cafes and restaurants. I would like to praise Caroline who was always there at breakfast (and most of the day) welcoming everyone, she always had a smile on her face and was so helpful and lovely and Joanna who was amazing at sorting things out in a calm and friendly manner, nothing was too much trouble for them. I will remember them both with great fondness. I only met Maria, the owner, a couple of times but both times she was most helpful and charming. One thing I would say is if you can hire a car it is advisable. Nidri is port so you can get around by boat and there is a bus service but a car means you can see much more of the island. Nidri seemed the best place to stay on the island in my opinion.
This is a welcoming pub with a great atmosphere in the bar and restaurant. Where this establishment fails is in the bedroom. It lacks doubles glazing and the heating such as it is, was not on for long. To put it mildly it was very cold.
We came down last minute to visit friends and booked the morning of visit lovely room very comfy bed and fresh breakfast cooked to order and it was hot !!! Really enjoyed our stay and would recommend deffo be coming back to stay again when visiting
We had the carvery and it was superb, the portions were huge and proper homemade taste, nice and hot too, there were two meats, roast beef and turkey, we had both :) and the price was amazing value at ￡13.95. Will definitely be going again. PS the staff are super friendly, really enjoyed the whole experience :)
Another great meal at The George! We have been to the steak night before and this time family joined us to taste other items on the menu. We all cleared our plates, the meal was brilliant. Steaks were cooked to perfection and the deserts were delicious. Great value for money. The staff work hard and we’re very attentive. Will definitely be back!
