Hotel was fine, great old building, shower took a while to warm up

We loved this hotel. Great location for visiting Stonehenge and it was spotlessly clean and well equipped. I particularly liked that there was an iron in the room and i didnt have to ask for one.

What a fantastic Sunday roast we have just had at The George Hotel Orton, it was up with the best roast dinners we have had. The plate was loaded and all very well cooked and presented. The Pub has a great atmosphere, and very busy, great beer, Wine and food what more can you ask for on a chilly Sunday in Cumbria. Not forgetting the roaring log fire.

The only real complain we have is when we got into our room it was like the AC was off in it for a while and the room had somehow built up humidity and had this weird smell to it. It took a while to cool the room down but once it did cool down it was fine. Overall stay was great.

Wall rattle Everyone at the George was very friendly. We stayed on the 3rd floor in room #350. Around 4 a.m then 6:30 a.m then 9:30 a.m walls started to rattle which woke me and my wife up. I then looked outside only to see the dumpsters and generator. The beds were also not very comfortable, flat feeling.

Per friendly hotel, location is near the city centre. Parking space can be a bit challenging especially during peak hours.

Room is okay if you are just planning to rest at night. There are restaurants nearby and bus terminal is also close from hotel.

I like the location of the hotel. This is a very simple hotel so don't expect much. I also like that there is a cafe downstairs it's really helpful especially since I was working at night shift the coffee is easy access ??????
