We enjoyed our stay from the time we checked in to check out. Hotel is located in the best spot of the historic district for easy walking access to all the restaurants and main attractions including all the shops. The hotel is charming and has a friendly staff. We will definitely stay there again.

The staff were all friendly and helpful. Room was clean and nicely decorated. We liked the pool area. The bathroom design is not great. The shower leaks all over the floor. We tried pointing the shower head away from the curtain and that didn’t help. We had to get more towels to sop up the water.

We had a fantastic week at the Governor's Lodge. Our cabin was spacious and comfortable, and the grounds were beautiful. The food was excellent, in particular, dinners at Bailey's were truly superb, a first-rate dining experience, worth the trip alone. The staff in both the restaurants and the front desk were all friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. We highly recommend a stay at the Governor's Lodge. One small suggestion: if your trip includes a rental car, request one of their small SUVs. The staff kindly swapped us to one, which made for a considerable improvement on the local roads. Thank you, Governor's Lodge; be warned, we'll be back !

People are so accommodating and friendly. Rooms are very clean. Restaurant offers amazing food.

Everything was good and friendly staff. The restaurant was excellent. It would be nice if they offered a full breakfast; continental breakfast was good though. We would stay here again.

Cheap bed but not too uncomfortable. Cheapest furniture—iron frame, fabric drawers, wobbly lamps, no easy chair; only the “desk” chair. Better chairs in hall. Lobby, practically bare with old chairs with questionable legs. Their attached club must bring in money to run the place. That they have loud, booming noise from right under your windows till it closes isn’t disclosed. It was a place to sleep and get out. Breakfast was Continental style and OK. We ordered pizza delivery instead of trying their restaurant.

Eggs were not great...toast like a rock. Bathrooms are very dated. Staff was great.
