The hotel is beautiful, but the AC in the room was not good at all, and the beds are way too small.

The InterContinental is an okay hotel — very much in the classic American style: large, convenient, and functional, but lacking personality. A few things really brought the experience down. The minibar/fridge service was frustrating: the refrigerator comes locked, and it took far more effort than it should have to get it opened. This was especially inconvenient because I needed to store medication that must be kept refrigerated. Another downside is the carpeted hallways. As someone with allergies, this can be challenging unless the cleaning is absolutely impeccable — and here, it didn’t feel quite reassuring enough. Overall, it’s not the kind of hotel that makes you feel like you need to come back. That said, the other options in the area aren’t very different either.

The room and the entire hotel was very clean. All staff members were very polite, friendly, and professional. Everybody, in general, made us feel very welcome.

Las habitaciones tienen malas las cortinas y el black out. Están viejas y malas y no sirven. La luz entra por todas partes desde las 6 am El Front desk tiene un servicio deficiente. Se demora 1 hora en hacer check in con 5 personas adelante y 4 atendiendo el front desk. Ridiculo. Quejarse no vale de nada porque lo hice y no les importo mucho. Difícilmente dan un late check out de una hora extra o del todo no lo dan. La comida muy buena y el personal de los restaurantes y el valet muy decentes Por lo demás no vale más de 70 dólares la noche.

I had two rooms, the first one in the 5th floor did not get enough hot water, the second in the main tower, 4th floor had a leak in the front door, near the air conditioning , I think. By then , I just dealt with it. The condition of the lobby is bad. The staff is very nice tough and very pleasant

La habitación de buen tama?o, buen ba?o y buenos amenities. La calidad de las toallas excelente, las sábanas y ropa de cama standard, no de la calidad que uni espera en un Intercontinental. La habitación solo la limpian una vez al día, el teléfono de la habiación para comunicarse con recepción o solicitar algún servicio es muy mala. Las personas que tienden las camas lo hcen mal, las sábanas muy abajo, el hotel necesita mejorar mucho. El SPA es bastante bueno.

Good Hotel, attention to service needs work The hotel itself is nice with the normal amenities one would expect from an Intercontinental Hotel. Unfortunately my experience included a room that had a leak in the ceiling. We are not talking about a drip, drip leak--we are talking full blown waterfall. I had to deal with that 3 times with multiple towels and ZERO response from the hotel. At check out, they offered to compensate a meal, but that never happened and really wasn't the issue. they should have just come and fixed the problem when it was reported. In addition to that, while the cost of Costa Rica is generally high, the excessive costs of food and drink at this hotel were way higher than expected--but the quality was very good.
