What an amazing place to stay, steeped in history and some of the most lovely architecture in the rooms. The Reception, bar lounge and bedrooms are all lavishly furnished and the friendlyness of the staff was to be hold. Ive tried several other hotels in Scarborough but this Hotel beets the lot. Ill be booking here again very soon.

Locatio. Anx price wise it was ezcellent valuen spot on only minutes from eastborough, and plenty of pubs and shops, we went as 5 male friends on a birthday weekend and were welcomed. Rooms a great size , bigger than average, prices were regular for this size of hotel, could write more but to say we will takes our wives soon

A grand building, tastefully decorated & in a fabulous location. Car parking is available but also, it’s just down the road from the train station. Everything is nearby. Staff were helpful & friendly. The bed was very comfy and the room was warm & large. Great value for money. We’ve been a few times, we can recommend it & we will be back.

Historic well located building with pleasing public spaces. Nice bar area. We were a bit surprised that they did not do breakfast , but there are plenty of places locally that do. All staff seemed friendly. Our room was a fair size but could do with touching up in a few places here and there. Bed was a bit on the lumpy side. However decent value for what we paid.

Came back from 3 nights here covered in huge bits all over back, front, arms. Worst case of bed bugs I have ever had from a hotel room in my life! Couldn't get any fresh air in room due to windows which didnt open. Friendly staff but wouldn't stay again.

Old fashioned hotel with lovely large rooms. We had originally asked for a twin room but as none were available due to a problem we ended up with 2 double rooms. Not ideal but the rooms were very nice. We have never eaten here as there are so many restaurants and cafes close by.

The Central, as indeed other hotels in the area is an old, Regency hotel. Parking is bookable directly in front of the hotel at £10/night. The hotel is of a bygone age and I have taken this into consideration in compiling my review. The reception and lounge are a faded grandeur. sofas that were once new, now shabby, most furnishings are of a Regency/ Victorian age ( i did notice an Ikea Arstid lamp in the reception though). Really small lift serving the 2 floors. My room was a Heritage room, and it was huge, again it was Regency. Issue with the sash windows though, only partially opened and one pain was definitely not toughened glass... it rattled and was dangerous... an accident waiting to happen... ( room 216) Bathroom was modern. For such a huge room, it was just a double bed... The pillows were cheap and lumpy, the bottom sheet was not long enough and rolled down the bed, the mattress protector made a rattling noise as though it was a form of plastic. I had been out walking and came back wet and cold....1600 hrs... no heating... I rang reception and then began 3 stories..over the hour before there was any warmth in the radiators....each time I rang down... 1) well yes, it is on. 2) The boiler has tripped out. 3) when a porter brought up an oil filled radiator( no pat test label) He said... the heating is set for 1700hrs. Yes, the hotel is old and dated... but really, I do not wish to stay in a museum... Btw... having stuffed animals everywhere in the lounge is not a restful atmosphere.... All the faded glory of the hotel was clean though. There were floor boards creaking and people walking about above me at 0230hrs, it woke me up.... Think it could be staff rooms?

Upon arrival the location was faultless. 5 mins from the theatre and surrounding amenities. The car parking you have to reserve upon booking and pay £10 per car. However, even though we did this, the parking was extremely tight and difficult to get in. It was hit and miss whether you would get your space back when you have popped out. There was no food or kitchen in the hotel, therefore no breakfast. Ridiculous! The bed was so soft and I had no sleep! It was also tiny! I nearly fell out of it. I wouldn’t stay again. Sorry!

Unfortunately I have to make a complaint with regards to our stay with you. We have stayed numerous times over the past 3 years without having any issues We were allocated room 104 The room had a terrible smell of dogs we understood you allowed pets but didn’t expect to be given a room where it smells of them There was also a large amount of dust There wasn’t an iron provided and when I asked for one I was told there were none available which wasn’t ideal and didn’t seem to have impact on the reception so I didn’t even bother discussing the other issues.
