The hotel is in a quiet part of town, but close to the center. The rooms were well equipped. There was no TV in the room, but we didn’t mind. The big pool was being fixed, and we knew that before. The place has a lot of potential. But cleaning after four days was a surprise. The staff were also quite distant.
I was only told after booking that the pool & pool bar was closed however,I was allowed to use the spectacular la skala vista hotel.I didn't use it as I prefer the beach.The fact that the pool and bar was ok as the whole appartments were totally silent,which I like. My room,9 was fine for 7 nights,clean and tidy but a bit dated.Perfect location,2 mins fro restaurants,5 mins from beach.I was told pool & bar is to re-open for next summer. The lady I dealt with,Rula was lovely,and I was allowed a different room for my last day to shower & change etc.loved the place really,i enjoyed the place.5th time to Skala and 2nd time this summer??????????
We were recommended this accommodation by friends. This is the first time we've stayed Self Catering in Skala and we loved it here. It is so peaceful and relaxing, but close enough to tavernas and bars. Everyone was friendly and welcoming. The rooms are well equipped and super clean ("Monica" clean - IYKYK!), and the pool and snack bar area are fab - I'm slightly hooked on the feta and green pepper sandwiches! We've booked again for next year and can't wait to go back
Effi is first of all the most wonderful host. She works incredibly hard, and is so kind to all of her guests. She goes above and beyond. Also the other people working hard here are her mother and the staff looking after the rooms. Our room is regularly cleaned in the week while we’re here which is above what we would have expected. We will be back again. Lots of wonderful places to eat near by and drinks. Nice beaches too. Highly recommend, you won’t be disappointed
This was our first visit to Makis Studios and we absolutely loved it. The location is perfect, 10 mins walk or so to the main ***** and beach but still secluded and quiet enough to feel completely at peace. Effie and Rita are a dynamic duo, always wanted to help with a smile on their faces. The apartments are cleaned daily and presented impeccably. No matter what time you get to the pool, there are always free beds and it is kept beautifully clean. I absolutely recommend this place
Stayed for 5 nights with my sister. Lovely welcome off the coach from Effi. Herself and her mum are super friendly and always happy to help. The apartments are very clean and adequate. Relaxing pool area, plenty of beds, ice cold drinks and lovely breakfasts and dinners. The apartments are perfectly located…..a few minutes walk to the restaurants and bars, and 5-10 minutes to the beach. My first time in Kefalonia and couldn’t have chosen a better place to stay. Typically Greek which I like. Thank you Makis x
What a lovely little place. We were Superbly looked after by Effi and her mum. Everything was clean and tidy. Rooms are great, the shower is our only tiny grumble, but it did the job. We had fresh bed sheets every day. Air con works well. Only a short walk to restaurants and the sea front. Breakfast and lunch was delicious, I highly recommend their traditional dishes on the menu especially the tatziki!! We only had a long weekend here, but we hope to come back.
Another wonderful holiday at these lovely studios the welcome from Rita and Effie is so lovely, nothing is to much trouble, the rooms are clean and comfortable and fabulous pool area with plenty of sunbeds. Near to the Main Street but far enough not to be bothered by noise can’t wait to come back next year
We've just returned from the Makis Studios and are already looking to book next year. Effie and her mam Rita are amazing, so friendly and helpful. The studios are lovely and cleaned daily. The pool area is brilliant and no early morning rush to get a sunbed. A 2min stroll and you're in the centre of Skala. Would 100% recommend.
The hosts are amazing and very friendly, but. The but is the studios are extremely basic and the bathroom could certainly do with a refurb. They are also very dark and dingy with dark wood furniture, however, immaculate and cleaned every day. The pool is lovely with a lovely pool bar. The best bit about the studios are the location 5 mins walk into a busy and bustling centre. Plus there’s lots of stairs to get your cases down and if you have mobility issues it’s a no no.
