Staying here felt like being welcomed into someone’s home. The team were so friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and clean with lovely views of the bay. Breakfast was delicious and the village of Beer is just stunning! They also have a small shop with lovely things to buy as gifts. Thank you for having us, we would love to stay again.

Once again a wonderful stay in Beer at the Bay View Guest House. The warmest of welcomes guaranteed from Grant, Rebecca, Karen and the girls. A 5 star breakfast on offer to start the day. Go once. You will be convinced to go again. A top favourite of ours. Richard & Kay,

Booked the suite here at very short notice and was not disappointed. What a gorgeous set up. Grant was incredibly helpful in all respects from beginning to end - what a star - as were the whole team, notably Karen who seemed to be everywhere during our stay :). The best Guest House / B&B I’ve stayed in. Very highly recommended. Thanks so much to Grant and team. Mike and Lisa.

Only went for breakfast, which was very very good.there is a set menu ,but you can choose anything and make your own.The service was very prompt .The coffee was perfect for my taste

We have been coming here in the summer holidays for the last three years and this year it didn’t disappoint yet again. It is our favourite place to stay, always perfectly clean, well stocked and the beds are comfy. It is right next to the beach as well. The staff are so friendly and make you feel so welcome and the breakfasts are just amazing with a wide variety of options and it’s so nice to be able to come down and be served at your table. We already can’t wait to come back! Thanks to Grant, Karen and the rest of the team!

When reading this re view, please bear in mind our stay was ￡165 per night. We booked"The Snook" as it has a seprate sitting room. Arrived and was welcomed with the offer of a pot of tea and a scone which was lovely. Place looked great. A fridge in the sitting area was an unexpected bonus in this hot weather and contained fresh milk, a great bonus. Plenty of tea/coffee/water etc and these could be refreshed at breakfast each day. Lovely bedroom with king-sized bed, excellent quality linen and plenty of storage space. Bathroom was nice and the shower was really powerful, so far so good! Spotless clean throughout. The bedroom, at the rear, was lovely and cool. The sitting room stiflingly hot and the one window in that room does not open. No fan supplied, even though temperature inching towards 30° (Even travel lodge supply fans in rooms). Huge TV, which was great, but it became very hot, in fact too hot to touch after it had been on for 30ins and this added to the heat in the room. Lovely leather chair was odd as when you sat on it, the back squashed back in on itself making it uncomfortable, so unusable. The flooring looked great, but be sure to wear footwear as without, one slips and could have a nasty accident, I slipped once and nearly went over! To bed! OMG the bed was so hard, like sleeping on a metal plate. Neither of us got any sleep and our backs were so sore. Pretty pointless to mention to staff as they can't change the mattress ( I mentioned it on leaving and was told it was a new mattress and has we mentioned it they could have given us a mattress topper, so to be fair, that is probably what we should have done although not sure how much it would have helped). Instead we rolled quilt into three and one of us slept on that, the other on the two seater sofa in the sweltering sitting room. Three nights of that! The boiler in the bathroom runs all night for some reason and that constant noise also is not condusive to a good night's sleep. Add to that noise from the room above (I think it may have wooden floors) and we were exhausted by the time we left. Breakfast is 8.15-9am so don't expect a lie in while on your hols. Food was just ok, nothing special. The serving staff were all delightful You get a little, and it is little, starter. I asked for fruit with yoghurt, hubby granola with honey and yoghurt. Both starters came in one (teacup sized) bowl. How bizarre expecting guess to share a bowl of two different dishes! We had a seafood platter (￡25) on return from our walk one day, it was very disappointing. Smoked salmon, some peeled prawns, a tablespoon of mackerel pate and a tablespoon of brown (no white) crab, 1 slice of granary bread. On the final day, having noticed that when we arrived for breakfast at 8.15, at least two other tables were already tucking into their breakfast, we went around at 8am as eager to get home; to be roundly told off, in a very rude and unprofessional manner by the male owner of the establishment. We stayed here one night on our SWCP hike. We loved it. Great room. Great location. Fabulous linens and shower. Key to a fabulous rejuvenation after hiking. We thought breakfast was fabulous and the staff was friendly and kind. We would recommend this place whole heartedly!!

We just loved Bay View. Nothing was too much trouble and everyone so friendly. The whole place is so luxurious and welcoming and how fantastic to have proper (robust) hooks on the doors for wet towels in the bathroom; coats and hats on the entrance door and bedroom hooks for dressing gowns and long summer dresses. There was lots of space to put your things without unnecessary clutter. The breakfasts were superb with lots of healthy choices and beautifully cooked and served. Thank you Bay View for a lovely family stay.

Exceptional. Care and cleanliness were the first things that come to mind. The staff were so helpful, we had to change the booking and they were so understanding. The room was fresh, clean and comfortable. Lovely décor ,even down to the coasters which you can find in the shop. Breakfast was good as was the choice of food. We also ate in the café and would recommend. Location can't be beaten. A lovely break thank you, we would recommend and we will return.

Cannot fault the Bay View. Stayed for one night this weekend. Immaculate room, warm welcome and an exceptional breakfast - eggs benedict was perfect. Also an unbeatable location just yards from the beach. Would heartily recommend it to anyone.
