We stayed at this lovely guest house in September for 4 nights and would thoroughly recommend it. The house is beautiful with modern decor. Everywhere was spotless and the rooms were serviced daily. The bedroom had a very comfortable bed and there were two easy chairs which is unusual in most B& B’s. An adequate bathroom with a walk in shower. The breakfast was well cooked by Sarah and delivered to the table by Andy, always with a friendly chat. There is parking and bus stops are just a few minutes along the road . The shops and sea front are just a short walk along the road or for a nicer walk there is The Byes. Which is a walk through a park along the river. Andy was very informative about the local area, restaurants, buses and walks, providing us with a handy map. We would definitely stay there again. Thank you Sarah and Andy for a most comfortable stay.

From the moment arrived (we arrived very late. )The host Andy and his wife Sarah were most welcoming in this very clean and tidy guesthouse. The rooms were well decorated and modern. The breakfast was just right. We will be staying here again.

Lovely place a short walk into main area. Great hospitality from Andy & Sarah, great knowledge of the area and places to eat and drink. Guesthouse is spotless and rooms serviced daily. Onsite parking available. Volunteer Inn is 5 minutes walk up road and is lovely for food and drinks.

Our room was clean and comfortable with lovely views, the B&B is very convenient within walking distance of shops, cafes. We received a warm welcome from Andy and Sarah and the breakfasts were lovely - always plenty of toast! We were however slightly surprised by the response and reaction regarding locking outside door at night. We queried this and were reminded this was explained to us when we arrived - would have had more polite reply to our query. Also perhaps Andy's could have dressed more smartly while serving breakfast. Thank you

My partner and I have just spent the most beautiful week at “The Groveside “Sidmouth I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this guest house as your base to explore East Devon and beyond , The owners Andy and Sahra were very warm and welcoming and their hard work showed in the spotless presentation of the bedrooms lounge and dining room , Andy took time to show us on a handy detailed map his and others recommendations of places to visit, explore and the numerous restaurants and cafes to eat out at. The breakfast at The Groveside,served by Andy ( perfectly cooked by Sahra ) was always served with a smile and a “ good morning chat “ and we can certainly understand why several of the other guests staying there were regular visitors , should we ever be in this part of the country again we wouldn’t look anywhere else other than Andy and Sahras,Groveside Guest House. Superb Guest House a couple hundred yards from the town centre and sea front beyond that. Received a warm welcome from Andy & Sarah. Andy presented us with a detailed map on arrival, with restaurant recommendations and places of interest highlighted. Family members had booked us tables at two pubs as a birthday present, The Anchor down in the town, and The Volunteer just up the road about 150 yards from The Groveside. On both occasions we had superb meals. Booking is essential as we witnessed many people being turned away when enquiring whether there were spare tables. Back to The Groveside....... The place is spotless, with free parking on site for 7 or 8 cars. Our bedroom was tastefully decorated and quite large. Modern bathroom with walk in shower. Very comfortable beds and a seating area. Breakfasts are freshly cooked by Sarah, plus there is an array of cereals, fruit etc. Bus Stops are handily within about 100 yards so only used our car once during our 6 day stay. The town.... Interesting shops, plenty of eateries, coffee shops. Lovely sea front to stroll along. To summarise, Sidmouth is a lovely town, and The Groveside gets a well deserved 5 stars from us.
