Guest:This was our second stay at the site, though it was under different ownership when we first stayed (when it was called Casa Nawal). We returned because we loved it so much the first time, and I have to say it is definitely ALMOST as good. The tents are still nice, and being able to walk out straight onto the stunning beach in 2 minutes is amazing, however it has to be said that the front of house staff are fairly unfriendly, and uncooperative to a degree. We are not complain-y people at all, but I don't think we saw one smile cracked from them across the whole trip, and a lot of our questions (about the area, rules on certain things) were treated as if we were stupid to be asking them. Other than this small detail, the campus where you stay is unbelievably nice, and the quality of the classes they put on are really, really high - perfect place for a break to switch off!

Guest:Like most hotels in Tulum, this one embraces a spiritual and nature-centered atmosphere — which is truly beautiful. There’s a great pool, a stunning yoga and meditation center, and the surroundings are incredibly peaceful. The restaurant is on the expensive side, and service was a bit slow at times. Our cabin had A/C issues the first night, and it was uncomfortably hot — we couldn’t sleep. Thankfully, the staff moved us to a different cabin the next day, and everything went smoothly after that. The hotel is located inside a national park, and at first, I was a bit upset because we had to pay an entrance fee I wasn’t aware of. But that was totally on me. Once we explored the area, we realized the fee was actually worth it — we had access to free transportation within the park and got to enjoy beautiful landscapes and plenty of wildlife.

Guest:This "Glamp" is in the National Park which is the first of many issues. The park is now militarized and run by the government. You must purchase a bracelet to ride the electric trams in the park approx. $25 US. I couldn't get an answer on how long it was good for.Secondly , if you want to venture out to town or on an excursion you must pay a daily fee of 120 pesos or $6.50 US. to be allowed back in to the resort you paid to stay at. The Military also patrols the beach on ATV's. Taxis are expensive and the quoted price can change when you arrive at your destination. The harassment while shopping near the Ruins and exit of the park is exhausting. Sellers will chase you down. Something odd is happening at Glamp Ikal as they used to be a partner to the more luxurious Ikal Hotel adjoining the property. There were very little staff on site. It was very unclear who was actually in charge daily. There were a few grounds men . After more than 5 trips to the check in area it was hard to find anyone. Upon arrival my friend and I were just taken to our separate tents. No orientation, wifi password or how to operate the AC. Warning: there are no handrails on the platforms of the elevated tents . Some of the steps are extremely steep and the distance between them is very uneven. I sprained my foot and ankle ten minutes upon arriving trying to navigate the tent's steps( pics available) . The tent I was given reeked of mold. There are dehumidifiers but guests can't use them.
