Guest：Old building with large modern attached part, situated next to Alnwick Castle and only a few hundred yards to the town centre. Most of the rooms and the restaurant are in the modern part. They are a good size, very well equipped and tastefully modern furnishings. The bed is on the firm side, the rooms are comfortable and quiet. There is an excellent choice of food for breakfast. Evening meals have good ingredients, nicely cooked and presented. Some of the combinations are a little unusual. All the staff are very pleasant We had only one niggle.The land behind the hotel slopes steeply downwards, and the car park is some way below the level of the hotel, which is accessed by climbing several flights of stairs. We heaved our luggage up the stairs to the hotel (I am 80 and my wife has arthritis), and when we reached reception we found that we could have unloaded our luggage at the front of the hotel, and one of the staff would have taken our car down to the car park. It would have been nice if this had been mentioned on the website, or when our booking was confirmed. Future guests take note! We enjoyed our stay and will stop again on our journey from Inverness to home
Guest：We stayed last night and were impressed straight away by all of the staff. There is a welcoming and relaxing ambience throughout this special hotel and the decor is sublime. Our room was lovely and felt luxurious. I had the most wonderful back massage and facial from Mel, the Temple Spa Therapist. Mel is such a nice person who put me at ease straight away and made me feel wonderfully relaxed. I thoroughly recommend the Power Breakfast treatment. We enjoyed dinner and were particularly impressed with our starters and were surprised how much we loved the olive oil ice cream and the black pepper ice cream we had in our desserts. It was lovely to end the evening with a couple of drinks in the bar. Breakfast was also very nice indeed with plenty of choice. We were sad to leave but felt we had a mini holiday even though we were there for only one night. As we were leaving, Sam the concierge, even remembered me going for my treatment at the Temple Spa and asked if I had enjoyed it. I would love to return to the Bailiffgate Hotel and recommend it highly. P.S. as an animal lover it was such a pleasure to see such a dog friendly hotel.
Guest：Great location, close to all amenities within Alnwick. Fabulous view of the castle, from Room 214. The bathroom was enormous, with two showers! Hotel staff were welcoming and friendly. Hotel cleanliness was of a very high standard. The only reason I wouldn't give a 5 rating is due to the fact that we found some of the charges very high. ￡25 for a full breakfast - we thought that this was quite excessive. We ordered drinks from the bar on two days - once in the afternoon, whilst sitting in the outside courtyard, and the second evening in the garden room area. We were charged ￡8.82 service each time.
Guest：From the moment of arrival to our departure we had the most wonderful stay . Only 2 nights but the room with a castle view was amazing ( the bath tap has to be seen to be believed ) fresh milk and bottled water in the mini fridge very much appreciated we dined in the restarant and the staff couldnt have been more accomodating will definately be making a return visit . Castle entrance was just across the road and it was only a 5 minute walk to the town centre
