Personale molto gentile e disponibile!
The location is perfect. Just in the middle of the best street in Trapani and close to the centro storico and port. The room setting is old and needs an upgrade especially the shower. Could hardly fit inside, the shower gel dispenser doesnt function, and you cant take your amenities when you shower as there is nowhere to put them unless you place them on the floor. Breakfast was very dissapointing, no variety and very limited. For the price you pay, you expect much better. Bed was comfortable.
Such a beautiful old facility that is in desperate need of attention. It definitely lacked tender loving care. Wasn’t sure if the man that helped us when we arrived had any interest in his job. He lacked enthusiasm when we checked in. We have stayed in many hotels/B&B’s in various countries, but thought this one was lacking. It is very hot and humid in Trapani, it is advised to not drink the water, and he informed us that there was water in the refrigerator but it would be 1E each. Seems rather petty!
The facade and courtyard are proper Palazzo. You feel this each time you walk in. Other tourists taking photographs will look at you enviously as you walk through the baroque arch, nonchalantly dangling your key to make sure they see it. Won't you enjoy that? The rooms are a meld of classic features, tasteful modern design and good quality furniture. And it's quiet in the rooms; you get peace to enjoy the place
We stayed at Ai Lumi over the Easter weekend to watch the Easter parade in Trapani, one of the biggest and best in Sicily. Such a pleasure to stay in such a lovely historic property. A huge courtyard of plants leads off the street and passers by watch jealously as you enter! They have a great pulley system to get your bags upstairs! We stayed in a room at the back, with a living room and kitchenette as well as a bedroom and bathroom. The rooms facing on to the main street look lovely through I imagine a bit noisier over Easter. Breakfast is in the Ai Lumi restaurant next door, where we also had a couple of lovely meals. All the staff at the hotel and the restaurant were very nice and friendly.
