  • Guest：We were in York last night for a friend’s surprise birthday celebration, and were very happy to stay at the Rose and Crown. We got a warm welcome from the staff for the duration of our stay. Although I’m a light sleeper, I managed to get a good nights sleep with the help of earplugs. The room was quite basic, but very clean, so no complaints. The breakfast was lovely, cooked to order and piping hot. Nothing was too much trouble, and we’ll definitely stay there on our next visit to York. It’s a bonus to find somewhere that has free parking this close to the centre, our friends were paying ￡25 a day to park where they were staying. The whole experience was great.
