Positives: 1 Location is great 2 Staff are very good, especially the GM Bollie, he visits guests around the resort daily. 3 Security and organisation is excellent 4 Shuttle service, there is a shuttle service to take you from your room to the beach and back, altho truthfully this should not be necessary unless you are very old or infirm. 5 Resort, room and beach cleanliness is excellent. The room linen is very good quality. 6 Beach facilities, there is a large cordened off swimming area, Jet Ski's for hire, Kayaking and banana boat ride. The beach and entire resort is well shaded by the natural original trees. 7 Parking very good onsite secure car parking, plenty of spaces. Negatives 1 The noise at night and early morning... Other ignorant guests slamming doors, shouting in the corridors, dragging furniture around at night. We booked for 4 nights 5 days we left on day 4, I could not endure another sleepless night and drive home. 2 Water is not at all hot, but not freezing cold, still in the Dec month it is nice to have a hot shower. 3 Errors in taking orders in the restaurants, or running out of stock. The latter surprises me because I noted the feeding frenzies at the inclusive buffet breakfast, but the restraunts during the day were not exactly busy. 4 The resort takes in day pass trippers, there are not enough beach loungers to cope with this and residential guests lose out if not early enough to claim the few beach loungers. Usually hogged all day. 5 Complimentary wifi was slow and timed out too quick, needing a reconnect. I just used my data instead. It's really a shame because the owner (a lovely guy), has put in so much time and effort to create a resort that really has everything, and it really could be a top class establishment, certainly worthy of top budget luxuory resort. And the biggest issue of all, the noise from other guests is so easy to resolve with explicit rules explained at check in, soft door closers fitted on rooms, plastic sliders fitted to the feet of room furniture.

We wanted to celebrate my sister!s 40th wedding anniversary so our family booked three premier rooms at La Jolla beach resort on Jan 9-11. The moment we stepped into the lobby to check in, we felt immediately the warm welcoming atmosphere of the place! And we were not wrong because we experienced how kind, efficient and hospitable were the staff at La Jolla, from the front desk, the restaurant staff ( we tried all three restaurants), shuttle service, housekeeping, maintenance, pool staff /life guards, activity staff and the first aid team. The front desk and Breakfast team were kind enough to help us make the surprise anniversary celebration a reality! Thanks a lot! I would like to extend my special thanks to Ms Tina (first aider) for her generous and effective assistance when I needed support and emergency medical care for my husband early morning on Jan 11. Your assistance was much appreciated! Besides Ms Tina, the very attentive staff at breakfast led by Ms Jheline responded promptly to my emergency call when my husband collapsed at the breakfast table. Four of us were seniors and we really found the place safe and accessible for relaxation and family bonding. When GM Bolly asked the two kids with us, how they like the place, they replied: Oh we don’t like it, we LOVE it! The kids and all adults in our family loved being at the beach and their beautiful infinity pool with stunning sunset views! The kids (6 and 8 yrs old) also enjoyed the complimentary kayak activity as well as play room (with fee) and the go-cart (with fee). The food that we ordered at the restaurants were all great too! My sister and husband, our anniversary couple, did their early morning walks by the ocean, and created new memories with us for another year of marriage! GM Bolly commented that he can’t do it alone! The staff is the valuable asset of the resort! Thanks Bolly for being present and concerned! It is a great pleasure to meet and talk to you! Thank you once again to all the staff of La Jolla for helping me make this memorable anniversary experience for my sister and for providing all of us a safe getaway haven to bond, relax and enjoy together !

Our family vacation in La Jolla was absolutely exceptional. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel valued and genuinely well-taken care of. Because the resort was so peaceful during our stay, it felt like we had our own private sanctuary. The sense of privacy and exclusivity made our time together as a family even more special. A huge kudos to the entire staff for their attentive and warm service. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. We highly recommend this resort for anyone looking for a high-end, intimate getaway!

We stayed in a Superior Room for 3 days and 2 nights as a family of 4 adults and 1 child. Room: The room was spacious, well-maintained, and clean. There were enough wall sockets, and it was easy to request essentials when needed. I really enjoyed the drip coffee provided—it was very good! The only minor issue was the door, which was difficult to close at first, but when we called for assistance, someone came right away and fixed it. Understandable since it was rainy season, and wood can expand. The slippers were also not the usual thin hotel type, but actual Beachwalk brand ones—very comfortable! Breakfast: Our booking came with complimentary breakfast for 4 adults. Breakfast was buffet style with an egg station, pancakes and cereals for kids, a good bread selection, and coffee. The food quality was great. I just wish they also had hot chocolate, but at least they served juices. Overall, very satisfying. Restaurant: At first, we thought there were other restaurants nearby, but since it was a bit of a hassle to go out, we ended up having lunch and dinner at the in-house restaurant throughout our stay. The servers were very attentive and kind. Food was tasty, but I found the options a little limited and portions just okay. Prices were on the higher side too. Hopefully on our next visit, they’ll have more menu choices. On the plus side, they do have al fresco dining available if you’re bringing your pets with you! Pet-Friendly?: I specifically found La Jolla by using the “Pets Allowed” filter, as I had planned to bring my shih tzu. However, I overlooked the detail that the Superior Room we booked does not allow pets. They do have a clear pet policy—it was just my mistake not reading it thoroughly. Pets are only allowed in certain rooms, with an additional fee per pet. Finding truly pet-friendly hotels outside Manila is still quite challenging, but it’s nice that this resort at least offers pet-friendly options. I do hope in the future they’ll extend this to all room types. Beach: For a quick getaway, the beach was beautiful and well-maintained. It does have a lot of rocks, so I recommend bringing proper footwear to enjoy it fully. Lifeguards were present, and there were also water activities available. Cottages and beach chairs were sufficient for the number of guests. Pool: The resort has three pool areas. Unfortunately, the infinity pool was under renovation during our stay, but we used the Pool Villa area near our room. It was well-maintained, had a lifeguard, and provided beach towels. There was also a jacuzzi, and my nephew especially enjoyed the 3ft kiddie pool. Hopefully next time the infinity pool by the beach will be ready—it looked very promising. Others: The resort grounds are quite large, but it wasn’t a problem getting around since they offer a free shuttle service. This was especially convenient for us traveling with seniors and kids. The resort’s style is you can’t bring any outside food and have to order food from their restaurants. This would be fine but when you get to the resto the wait is longer than the meal. Another is the meal itself takes 45 mins to 1 hour before you get it. We got to the resto 7pm. Did not get seated until 8pm. Last order is 9pm. Breakfast was slightly better at 7:30am but no choice but al fresco dining so some of the food had insects. Lunch was bad again at 45 mins before the first dish came out. At the 30min mark we were told that some items were not available and were asked to change. Lets see what dinner will be like today. To be clear the staff were very polite and accomodating. It is the facility and yhe system that needs improvement.

The place itself is nice, but the service, food variety, and overall hospitality definitely need improvement. Sales & Front Office Coordination: We requested an extra bed in advance (coordinated via email with their Sales team), but it was not set up upon arrival. Towel Policy: They have a strict “one towel per person per day” rule. Even if your towel is already wet, you cannot request a dry replacement. This is unusual compared to other 4–5 star resorts where used towels can be exchanged for fresh ones. Room Amenities: The room had only one teaspoon for three mugs and three guests. When we requested more, housekeeping declined, saying one was the maximum allowed. This felt unsanitary and very inconvenient. Water Supply: Only one bottled water per guest per day is complimentary. Any additional bottle is charged, which doesn’t feel very hospitable. Laundry Service: Drying a swimsuit costs ?100 per clothing item. For example, a two-piece bathing suit is considered ?200, which feels unreasonable. Food & Beverage: Menu prices are quite high, but the quality of both food and drinks did not match the cost. Lack of Guest Communication: There was no proper announcement when dinner service was relocated from the bamboo plates area to Mango Café. Even after asking both the F&B and Front Office teams, we weren’t given accurate information.
