  • Guest：A quick thank you to all The Grande staff for an enjoyable stay. This quaint hotel is full of charm and well suited to accommodate a large group of friends, such as we had for a 3 night stay, The hotel organised entertainment on site, a cabaret one night and the following night a duo performing old classics. Both acts were first class and we all thoroughly enjoyed the entertainment. The room was top notch and I had the best night sleep I have had for ages. Again thanks to The Grande for a memorable stay. We'll be back.
  • Guest：What a place! We had the most fabulous weekend with a big group of friends and we could not have had a better time. The hotel is absolutely charming and so was our host, Ian. I loved the beautiful dining room, the lounge where the bar is has the feel of an old English Pub, just what you want. Not to mention the entertainment room downstairs! So cosy and versatile, amazing ( the old floorboards are fantastic)! The bedrooms are lovely and the bed super-comfy. I really liked the tiles in the bathroom, it has a really fresh look. I very much enjoyed the fact that it was only a short walk down the hill to the Hepburn Springs which offers some wonderful walks through the bush. In the words of Arnie - "I'll be back!"   • Guest：The gracious old Grande Hotel, in Hepburn Springs, has recently changed hands and it’s dining room is now open to the general public. We thought we’d try their “Locals Tuesday Gnocchi Night”, advertised as “Freshly made potato Gnocchi & a beautiful glass of wine” for $39.90 per person. In regards to the “beautiful glass of wine”, the options offered were simply, white or red, so we chose white. This turned out to be, I think, a Pecorino which was very sweet. We were then brought a Chardonnay which, although not something we would have chosen, was better. We had bolognese gnocchi, and barramundi & prawn gnocchi. It has to be said here that the home made gnocchi may well have been the best we’ve had. The gnocchi itself was perfect and the sauces sang with flavour. It was served on a flat plate with a fork, making the sauce almost impossible to pick up, so we asked if we might perhaps have a little bread to accompany the dish. Finally, after our gnocchi was finished with said sauces stubbornly remaining on the plate, an order of two tiny pieces of freshly baked bread per person arrived - unfortunately too late. My suggestion would be, for maximum enjoyment, to simply accompany the excellent gnocchi with a very small bread basket. The desserts on offer were Sticky Date Pudding or Baked Cheesecake. Unfortunately the cheesecake which we requested was no longer available. The Sticky Date Pudding with vanilla ice-cream which we shared, was both delicious and extremely generous. The restaurant was busy, and the staff friendly. The dining room and the hotel entrance and lobby area in general were everything you’d hope for in an historic 1920’s venue.
