Fine if you don’t value good sleep. Rooms 1-4 have restaurants across the hall and under the floor. Thin walls and a hard mattress. All character, no comfort. Also I was led to believe there was a tv in my room but it’s actually a communal tv shared between 4 rooms. Disappointing.

Stayed here 2 nights in Feb. Booked the Forest View Spa Suite. It was huge. Great wrap-around balcony with seating. Fully equipped kitchen and living area. Plenty of parking available. Easy walk into the town for restaurants/ bars/ supermarket / visitor centre. Helpful reception (which is across the road). Note - There's no lift, so you have to carry your luggage up the stairs, and no aircon in the bedroom, but if you leave the bedroom door open the one in the living area cools the room.

We liked Margaret River. It’s a thriving little community with plenty of interesting shops, cafes and restaurants. The Bridgefield Guest House is one of the oldest places in the town so has a heritage style to it….with enough modern facilities like air conditioning and a decent shower. One of the downsides of the room was it was noisy as the windows are old and were not sealed against the noise outside. The Italian restaurant associated with the guest house is extremely good, definitely go there if you get the chance. Make sure you book as it gets very busy. The smallish bakery just along the road from the guesthouse was also very good, you can pick up lunch here, we shared a $18 roll and it was more than enough for two and was stuffed full of fresh vegetables and beetroot humus. If you want a run/jog there is a river walk virtually next door to the hotel which was great, woods, water not too far and fairly flat. One of the days here we went to Busseltown Jetty expecting to go to the underwater observatory. Nice town but we now know you need to book the observatory!

Adored this quirky guesthouse! It was like stepping into a movie set. It won’t be everyone’s cup of tea but we loved it and all of its quirks and rough edges. Our room had a funny little unkempt courtyard with a sad pot without a plant. We actually took it upon ourselves to plant some geranium cuttings and some succulents. We only hope that they get watered! We left a note for the staff. We had a great stay.

We were absolutely spoilt at Bridgefield Guest House. Upgraded to the ‘Merlot Room’ (which is quite small), we were compensated by having a large living area, decked out with Chesterfield couches and a great little kitchenette with stove, oven, microwave and mini fridge. The ambience of Bridgefield is second to none and the feeling of being in such a historic building was sublime. Good old fashioned ‘drapes with pelmets’ served to enhance our experience, let alone the exquisite timber finishings. This place was so good, I could barely wait to get back to it after a day of sightseeing around the region of Margaret River. Do yourself a favour - stay here!

To be at the centre of the town you are visiting and within walking distance of many places you will want to visit is the aim of many savvy tourists. That’s why I picked a night at Bridgerfield Guest House when on a short visit to Margaret River. I was very happy with the location, the free off street parking and the decor. The bed was very comfy and had an easy to use electric blanket and the air conditioning was controlled in the room. Plenty of pillows and towels and tissues. A bit of noise from the restaurant music above my room but it didn’t last long. TV was in a shared lounge and there was also provided all needed to light a fire on a cold night.

I loved our stay. We were pleasantly surprised by our room Forest View. It was a suite with kitchen, lounge, bathroom with spa bath and separate bedroom. We were on the top floor with balcony wrapped around. Plenty of areas to sit inside and outside. No a/c or tv in bedroom but was not required. Lounge/kitchen has a/c and electric fireplace with big tv. We were comfortable and would stay longer.

Very clean and delightful. Loved the communal lounge space, met a lovely group of people while there. Was a little sad that I couldn’t seem to find a fridge with milk for my morning cuppa Would definitely stay here again. Room was clean, well presented and served well for the one night that I was there
