The staff was amazing and very welcoming. They helped call tuk tuks when needed and made amazing food. The location was slightly outside of the bustle of town and was a very nice quiet escape. We will definitely come back!

We had a wonderful stay at Heenatigala Walawwa ?? This is a small, exclusive boutique hotel with real character. The Dutch colonial heritage is well preserved. The antiques and artefacts feel genuine and well placed. You sense the history as soon as you arrive. The villa is very special. Quiet. Private. Set among paddy fields, yet only ten minutes by tuk tuk to the beach. The team arrange this for you, which makes getting around easy ???? The pool is private and peaceful. Ideal for switching off. The bedrooms are spacious and beautifully finished. The bathrooms are excellent, with an incredible feature shower and plenty of space. The food is of a high standard. Freshly cooked. You order what you want, when you want. Service really stands out. Chamath and his team look after you with care and attention, without hovering. You feel welcome and relaxed. This is a place for those who value calm, privacy and character. We would return without hesitation ??

Our stay was simply fabulous. Lovely villa with amazing facilities tucked away amongst forrest and paddy fields; only few minutes from Galle/Unawatuna. All you can hear is the birds chirping while enjoying absolute privacy in this locally inspired uniquely built property.

Nestled among luxuriant paddy fields with luscious greenery, the Manor was more than we expected. Our stay was the perfect balm for the soul. The picture worthy architecture and comfortable bedrooms set our mood for the stay. The breakfast with home cooked hoppers and the fresh fish curry, and the other delicious dishes was a good start to an idyllic day. But the best part of the stay was the personalised service provided by the all the staff especially Rafath, who was ever attentive and kind. The Manor is worth many more visits for those who are seeking a getaway.

Booked 3 of the 4 rooms in this villa with a group of friends for the 31st. We had a heavy night on the 30th so were looking for a place to unwind and have a relaxed end to the year. This place absolutely exceeded all expectations that we had. It is located a few km inland so the initial drive from Galle Road seems a bit long, plus some sections of the road are not great. Also there is not enough signposting so you need to use google maps or you would end up lost. However once we entered all this was forgotten as the place was so lovely. It's a new building designed to look like a colonial villa and is gorgeous inside and out. Rooms are spacious and beds are super comfortable, bathrooms are huge. Only slight issue is that the bathroom is open plan and you walk through it to get to the bedroom, not ideal if you're sharing with anyone except your significant other! The pool area and garden were beautiful and there is a great lounge area right by the pool where we spent most of our time. Food was made to order, we stuck with local options and they were quite good quality. All the staff deserve a special mention because they were extremely attentive and helpful and always trying to ensure you had the best time. Our only regret was that we stayed only one night. The place is certainly not cheap ( the selected dates made it worse) but it feels like it is still good value for money, which is quite rare in SL.

We spent 3 nights during christmas at this lovely place. The hotel is very intimate and has only four rooms. Breakfast (and dinner, if ordered) is served poolside. The staff is super friendly and was always helpful whenever we needed something. This was the best hotel we stayed in in Sri Lanka and is totally recommended.

I was with my family , we had amazing seafood, super service and lots of privacy. The peacocks pay a visit in the evening, and the vintage cars are so smartly parked at the front and facing a lush paddy with a cool breeze..its a treasure that s worth discovering.

Me and my partner are always on the look out for hidden accommodation on the outskirts of tourist areas. This place is no different...Pedlar’s Manor is nestled in the paddy fields between Unawatuna and Galle. This 4 room accommodation with private pool and gardens is fantastic if you have your own transport. The staff are incredibly courteous and welcoming and constantly went out of their way to help make our stay the best they could. We booked one night and enjoyed it so much that we booked a further night (and to be honest we could have stayed more!) We were the only guests on the 2nd night meaning we had the whole place to ourselves and enjoyed relaxing by the pool. The Sri Lankan breakfast was bountiful and very tasty and if we had longer then we would have tried an evening dinner too. I went out running around the local villages and spotted kingfishers, many peacocks and Sri Lankan hanging parrots as I passed down the windy roads. If you have your own transport then this place is a great little escape from the local beaches and Galle Fort. Even without, a local tuk tuk will not set you back many rupees...

We were there to spend a day. Place is very well maintained and it’s so clean and tidy. It’s got a good collections of antiques too which gives a elegant look to the place. And if you are a car lover , there are some classics cars Parked at the Manor. Staff is very Friendly and good service. Amhar has been very helpful. Delicious food , clean swimming pool. It’s a perfect place for a family gathering without a doubt.

Amazing old colonial house turned boutique hotel. Amazing setting where we saw the monkeys playing in the trees and our alarm clock was the peacocks chatting. Lovely setting about 10mins from the main town. Lovey small 4 bedroom boutique. Amazing staff who will always help you with whatever you need. Nice breakfasts and met some lovely guests there too. Nice pool area where you can spend your time. Would recommend for couples of families.
