Melrose House is a great place to stay. Very central and has free parking about a five minute walk away. The room was spotless, warm, good shower and comfortable beds. Breakfast was a treat, with a really good choice to suit all needs. Tracey and Kevin are good hosts.

We had a brilliant stay at Melrose B&B. Our room was immaculate and had everything we needed. Staff were very helpful and parking was provided. There was plenty of choice for breakfast and the food was excellent. We would highly recommend and we will definitely be returning

The room was spotless, warm, and the beds were very comfortable. Breakfast menu was excellent and the food very good. Tracey and Kevin are great hosts. All in all a very good stay.

Great b&b in a very central location within Ambleside. The room was immaculate with a modern En-suite. My wife and I had a great time and Kevin and Tracey were the perfect hosts. Will be coming again.

Beautiful room exceptionally clean , Tracy very welcoming and given good information as too breakfast which again was beautifully cooked very attentive , checking in and checkout was a breeze plus having lock up parking off the street was a bonus , great location only think when busy yiu need to book restaurants in advance definitely recommend this guesthouse

Another wonderful stay at Melrose Guest House. Location is perfect, everything you want is on your doorstep…lovely walks, cute independent shops and great places to eat and drink! Tracey and Kevin are amazing hosts, the breakfast is outstanding and nothing is too much trouble ?? I was lucky enough to stay in the four poster room, which was super spacious and comfortable. Loved everything and can’t wait to stay again in 2026 ????

Great guest house with an amazing breakfast. We stayed in room 1 and it was lovely and big, super comfy beds and modern bathroom! Lots of tea, coffee and hot chocolate options. Super handy parking as well which was only a couple of minutes from the hotel, all securely locked up so no stress with the car. Tracey and Kevin were great hosts, with lots of recommendations for local walks and laminated maps you could take with you so we didn’t get lost! It was a really lovely guest house and we will definitely be back on our next visit to Ambleside!

A great location, spotless accommodation, powerful shower and an excellent breakfast. Tracey & Kevin are very friendly and helpful. We'll be back!

The accommodation is spotless, well managed, welcoming and very comfortable . The breakfast is cooked fresh and so filling, we didn’t want to eat anything until our evening meal, not even a cake mid day which is very unlike us. There is free, safe and allocated car parking 5 minutes away which is a huge bonus in Ambleside.
