Blissfully elegant room with a wonderful marble bathroom with double basin , shower and freestanding bath.

1) Dodgy area. not sure I would walk the area at night. View from my room looked out on a graffiti covered building across a parking lot. Be prepared for ambulances and sirens blasting at least 2 or 3 times during the night. 2) rooms are all different, but my room was...less than optimal. The bed was was 9 feet from the door which opened directly into the main part of the room When I lay on my side, bright lights from the hallway shone through the cracks between the door and the frame. It was like staring at bright night light. It's always better when the door does not open directly into the main room, which shields the occupant from light and noise. 3) I did not care for the mattress. I am not a fan of memory foam, even it is only a topper. It's very hot to sleep on. Between the light from the door and the uncomfortable mattress, I did not have a good night's rest. 4) The hotel shuttle does not run often enough. We attended an event at the train station, and when we called the hotel for a pickup, they said they could not be there for an hour. We called an uber instead; I think the room was over-priced. I've stayed in nicer hotels for less. The lobby is impressive, but one doesn't sleep in the lobby. I probably would have given the experience 3 stars instead of 2 if the price were more reasonable.

We are a city center hotel so there is a lot going on around us in the area but we are in a safe location in the heat of Virginia Commonwealth University. We have some larger room option which do give additional space and can also note bedding preferences such as if you like feather or foam items. We would be happy to note these things in your booking on future visits but do appreciate your feedback.

Everything about the hotel was great except for a rattle in the room from the AC throughout the night.

**The Jefferson Hotel, Richmond, VA** Opened in 1895, The Jefferson is one of those rare hotels that earns its reputation without breaking a sweat — the soaring rotunda, stained glass skylights, and marble columns make an immediate impression, and the warm, unhurried service keeps it from feeling like a museum piece. Rooms are elegant and genuinely comfortable, Lemaire is one of the better restaurants in the city, and the Rotunda Bar is a perfect excuse to linger. It's not a budget stay, but for a special occasion or simply a night of doing Richmond right, there's nothing else quite like it.

You can’t go wrong with The Jefferson Hotel. Everything is perfect. Classic, elegant and outstanding service.

The hotel has been nicely updated. Room was very well appointed. Service was impeccable. There are private lounges for you to hang around if your flight leaves later in the day, which was a bonus for us.

The curtains in the room are split in four sections and have gaps between sections when closed. The staff is quite friendly and helpful. There seems to be no complimentary bottled water provided.

Our entire stay was outstanding. Food, service,friendliness and professionalism of the staff was superb. Our room was impecable. We will stay here from now on when we come to Washinton,DC.
