For the past 7 years I've been going to Aurora 3-4 times a year when I come from the States. Prices don't concern me, but when you charge USA price for shrimp and the shrimp is tiny and overcooked, that's unacceptable. I went to pay and my credit card got declined, I have no limit on my card. I asked him to run it again, so he got another terminal and got declined again. For curiosity I gave him my USA debit card and got accepted. My credit card was not accepted at Aurora I guess that is last time I visit Aurora.
The restaurant staff seemed inexperienced, and you’re left wondering how they ended up working at Aurora. The SPA was not working, and we were not informed about this before our arrival. The room had a broken fridge, no phone to call reception, and no air conditioning. Breakfast was limited and not great — again, more like what you’d expect from a 3-star hotel. No free water in the room, and the toilets were of low quality. Yes, the nature around is amazing, and there were a few staff members (especially at reception) who made an effort. But still — not worth the cost. They charge like a 5-star hotel but deliver a 3-star experience.
It was a very nice stay at this hotel, immersed in the midst of greenery and forests. Marvellous nature and marvellous ambience. Every little detail was well thought out. Clean and cosy, we liked every piece of it! But, we had the bad luck to stay at 412 room, where the bathroom was full of dead flies. Every 5 minutes the sink, the shower and everything was covered with dead flies, ants, etc. I hope someone read this review and take actions, because it was not acceptable.
I recently spent 3 nights at Aurora Resort & Spa in Berovo, and I can honestly say it was one of the most amazing and relaxing getaways I’ve ever experienced. The location is simply stunning — surrounded by beautiful forests and panoramic views of untouched nature. It’s the perfect place to disconnect from the busy world and enjoy the fresh mountain air, peace, and quiet. The hospitality at Aurora is exceptional. From check-in to check-out, the staff were incredibly friendly, helpful, and professional. Maja and Katerina made me feel truly welcome and cared for, which made the stay even more enjoyable. My room was spotlessly clean, cozy, and designed with a lovely natural feel. I loved waking up to the sound of birds and views of the surrounding greenery. Every detail was thoughtfully taken care of, from the soft bedding to the calming decor. The food was absolutely delicious — every meal was a treat! The restaurant serves a mix of traditional and modern dishes, using fresh, local ingredients. I especially enjoyed dining on the terrace, surrounded by nature. One of the highlights of the resort is the infinity pool. The water was warm and inviting, and the view from the pool is breathtaking — you feel like you’re floating above the forest. It was the perfect spot to relax during the day and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere in the evening. Aurora Resort & Spa is a true hidden gem. Whether you're looking for a romantic escape, a wellness retreat, or just a peaceful place to recharge, I can’t recommend it enough. I left feeling completely refreshed and already dreaming of my next visit!
This place is awesome for a summer mountain trip! We had such a great time. The kids loved the pool and the mini zoo. The rooms are really comfy and clean. The nature, the views and the nightsky is amazing And the food was super tasty. We totally recommend it!
Aurora Resort has become our favorite escape—we're regular guests, and every time we go, we discover something new and beautiful. The cozy rooms with lake views, the fresh mountain air, and the peaceful nature always recharge us. My kids had a cough before we arrived, and it cleared up completely—there’s something truly healing in the air here. The food is always incredible, made with homegrown veggies and local meat. We've never been disappointed—only more in love with the place each time.
Lovely place with spectacular mountain/lake views, playground for kids, swimming pool, fitness and SPA. You can rent a bike, walk near the lake or pick up any of the paths to explore the area.
I think the main issue with this hotel is that by UK standards I would class this as a 3/4 star hotel not 5. Having said that we had a wonderful week here and absolutely loved discovering this part of Macedonia. Our initial room was a bit grotty with peeling wall paper and lights not working. After a heavy rainfall the room leaked so we were moved to 2 interconnecting rooms and these were so much nicer. These felt much more like a 4 star experience. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were large. The cleaning was excellent though we did get told one day our room couldn’t be cleaned because the cleaner didn’t have a key so I had to take it to reception the next day. The restaurant food was ok but really overpriced and we got much better food which was higher quality and better priced in the local town. Though breakfast was excellent. The pool area is tired and dirty. The spa is terrible. The gym has no free weights and is tiny. The surroundings area is absolutely stunning and the views beautiful. Service was a bit grumpy though this may have been the language barrier. The concierge were so unhelpful and even neglected to mention an amazing music festival we thankfully discovered ourselves in the local town.
From the entrance in the complex, positive energy is everywhere around… place where you feel in another dimension. So calm, fresh air, nature singing… Aurora spa is special place to take a breath of busy life, great welcoming personal everywhere, smiles on their faces with the nature around made my stay there like a dream… I think no need to write about Aurora spa, you have to feel it, no words for describing… AMAZING
