Great b&b Colin and Jackie lovely people, breakfast was brilliant and plenty of it, so close to the town and harbour , room very comfortable, we will definitely be back to this b&b,
I’m so glad we decided on the Melville for our first stay in lovely Brixham. Colin and Jackie were perfect hosts, super friendly, fun and helpful with loads of helpful tips and advice, just lovely people. The hotel is clean and spotless, has great facilities and is just a few minutes walk down to the harbour. Another big plus about the Melville are the fabulous breakfasts, cooked individually to perfection by Colin. They also catered for my wife who is gluten intolerant. You fill out a breakfast form the day before with what you would like, along with a time slot, and it is brought out to your table shortly after you sit down. Parking is great too with spaces on the front. I’d recommend booking directly through their website as this is cheaper than going through a booking company. Highly recommended, and we hope to stay here again in the future.

We have stayed here before, hence our return and our review. If you go to their website the first line on it says "we want you to have a wonderful stay" and that is so true of the hosts Colin and Jackie. We hadn't been to the Melville for about 3 years but we went back this summer because we missed Brixham and comfy, welcoming rooms at the Melville and the kindness and the warm hospitality from Colin and Jackie. We weren't disapointed at all. As with everyone, Colin met us and welomed us at the front door and carried the full wardrobe I had bought with me for my 3 day stay ?? to our room. The rooms have a comfortable feel to them and are tastefully decorated and spacious, especially room 2 which is a suite and the beds are really comfy with lovey soft bedding and towels. All rooms have en-suites. The full english breakfast provided has lovely locally made sausages and bacon as well as a great vegetarian option. Everything they do at the Melville is designed to ensure that you have a relaxed, comfortable and unobtrusive stay. They simply ask that if you need anything, to just let them know and they do they're best to try and accommodate you. We had a lovey time and would highly recommend a stay at this guest house.
We had a great 4 night stay lovely room clean and comfortable lovely couple that run it very friendly . The breakfast was amazing best fried bread I've ever had So close to brixham town. Bus route right outside so easy to commute. Lovely local pub 50yds away. We would definitely stay again loved our stay
Enjoyed a 6 day stay at the Melville, the room was spotlessly cleaned and comfortable, the breakfast was great with a large selection, Jackie and Colin were the perfect hosts, just a short walk to the harbour, definitely go back if I'm in Brixham again.
The Melville Guest House is in a great location. It is on the main road so do expect a little traffic noise. The room we had was perfectly acceptable for a 2 night stay, it was spotlessly clean and well prepared with fresh milk in the fridge, tea, coffee etc but a little compact (room 1). If staying more than a couple of nights it may feel cramped. That said the room was well presented, the hosts Colin and Jackie were very attentive, eager to give information on local attractions. Breakfast was well presented and tasty with choices of cereals and cooked options.
We stayed for two nights to attend a rowing competition. We stayed in the suite which was really spacious and had a huge bed! The whole guest house is spotlessly clean and our suite the same! The owners are really friendly and lovely people, nothing was too much for them to do for us. I needed an early breakfast and the owners obliged by sorting this for me! There is a lot of choice for breakfast and it was top quality both mornings. There is off road parking which was really useful and we did not hear overnight noise from the road. We will definitely stay here again went next in Brixham and we highly recommend Melville! Thank you
Our first stay at The Melville and certainly won't be the last. Lovely warm welcome from Colin and Jackie who are really nice, down to earth people. Or room was spotlessly clean, fresh nice smelling bedding and towels, mini fridge and plenty of storage space with 2 chairs to relax in aswell. The breakfast room was clean and you weren't on top of other guests. Lovely cooked breakfast by Colin, and Jackie runs the breakfast room like clockwork. Again, everything is spotlessly clean. We had a room at the front which is on the main road into Brixham so there is some road noise, but the benefit is that it is literally a 5 minute flat walk into town and the harbour. There is also free parking either on-site, a garage to the rear of the property or a 1 minute drive from the back of the property off road in a private car park for which you receive a pass. Both Colin and Jackie are helpful, friendly and run their guesthouse really well. We will definitely return.
