Guest：This place tops all the marks! From the ambience, facilities to the comfort and friendliness. It's a family run place and the family takes a really good care of it. The establishment is a historic house, dating back to the 18th century and it's amazing they maintain the place to be in such an excellent condition. We felt ourselves as staying in a museum. The common areas are packed with numerous paintings, some really old ones, beautiful furniture and antique objects. Our room (no.1) on the ground floor was bigger than the one booked. We were lucky to be upgraded to this big room. Bed was huge and mattress comfortable. The room was beautifully decorated with impressive high wooden ceiling. Breakfast was nice with homemade cakes, pies and local products. The breakfast area is really beautiful and it's like having a breakfast while travelling back in time. Casa das Obras is the place to be if you are searching for hospitality, ambience and value for money while on the mountains.

Guest：We absolutely loved this place, where we stayed for three nights in May 2023. First, it is stunningly beautiful with its "manor house" vibe, period furniture, tall ceilings, traditional/historical decor. Second, the breakfast is amazing. There is the usual spread of breads, meats, cheeses, juices, etc., but what makes this place truly special are the freshly baked cakes and breads and pastries -- different ones every morning. Plus there are bowls of freshly cut/peeled fruit: oranges, melons, strawberries, the local cherries, kiwi. And not only is there always a pot of good strong brewed coffee, there is always a second pot with hot steamy milk. Third, there is Amelia, the daughter, grand-daughter, great-grand-daughter of the family owning this property since, I believe, the 1700s. She doesn't speak much English, but she manages very well to convey her love of the home and also her honest and authentic joy at being able to host guests there. Fourth and last, the price is downright ridiculous!! 70 euros per night for a couple with this amazing breakfast. I would have thought it was a bargain at twice the price. We were in Manteigas to hike, and we loved heading off in the morning with a full stomach and lots of caffeine! Thank you, Amelia, for a wonderful stay!
Guest：What a amazing property – a grand old house with furnishings from the era. We stayed in a double room on the 1st floor of this beautiful house. The bedroom had a large queen size bed and a separate room with seating and a small fridge, plus an ensuite bathroom. Continental breakfast was also included and was an experience to be in the dining room of the house. The communal areas of the house were amazing with several large lounge areas, a billiard room, dining areas, an upstairs balcony overlooking the garden and even a swimming pool. This is such a special property and we wish we could stay longer. Reception is open from 2.00pm for check-in and a guided tour of the house. Parking on the street directly outside the house. We would definitely stay here again.
