Guest:Previous visit, we stayed at La Parador Santa Maria Real so had booked our first few nights there. On the recommendation of our local hosts, we then booked a further 12 nights at San Juan Suites. This delightful boutique hotel has just 7 rooms and we found #4 very comfortable. Spacious with a high-ceiling, the window shutters eliminated street noise at night. Like the other rooms, it provided a welcome fridge and microwave, plus a kettle and tea/coffee making (which the Parador, for all its quality, did not.) The TV had more high definition channels than we could watch in a week (marvellous sports coverage on ESPN and eventually we discovered a swathe of English language programmes on Universal). Breakfast was buffet style with various juices, yoghurts, local fruits, different breads and tea, mate and coffee, all managed by the very capable and friendly Nellie, whom we thank for all her help, and the daily freshly prepared huevos revueltos. We also met a charming fellow guest from Canada, travelling for 12 weeks throughout S America and far more adventurous and intrepid than ourselves. We had two excellent dinners together at Las Posadas and La Taverne before she set off for Unyuni on local, scheduled buses. The first Sucre/Potosi ($ 3) and the second Potosi/Uyuni ($ 6). San Juan Suites also has lovely courtyard seating area, is on Bolivar close to everything and has been tastefully modernised throughout. We would like to express our thanks to all at the hotel for a wonderful stay. We have no hesitation in recommending to other travellers.

Guest:Most probably the newest hotel in the whole city of Sucre as it’s only 2 years old. You can still feel how everything in the room is quite new. Also very equipped each room has microwave kettles etc Also very good value for money specially if you make the booking directly with the hotel it’s around 20%cheaper I had a pleasant 2 night stay and wanted to extend but they were fully booked for the next day but I will definitely return the next time I come to Sucre
