We stayed at Idle Rocks for their Christmas Package. We had a lovely time. The location is fantastic. Our room was perfect. The service was excellent with very friendly staff. We enjoyed all our meals. Perhaps a bit more choice for the a la Carte menu would have been good. Our only criticism was there was too much food on our plate on Christmas day! The turkey lunch was delicious.

This was a sumptuous hotel in a stunning location. The room and en-suite bathroom were spacious, and a bowl of fruit and nice toiletries were provided. The food was exquisite and the service was good, and restaurant had lovely views across the harbour

We have just had a wonderful 2 night break here.I cant recommend it enough.If you want a chilled break..with fantastic rooms..food and staff.this is a must.We will definately be returning.Everything about this hotel is amazing and of very high quality.The moet that is served at breakfast was a lovly treat..as was the best brulee french toast.

We are not staying at the Idle Rocks but each time we are staying in the village of St Mawes we love going to the lounge at the Idle Rocks for afternoon drinks and one of their amazing sandwiches, the best being 'Reuben Salt Beef'. Totally delicious and beautifully presented too. I love the scones too. A huge thank you also to Stewart and the whole team as they make our visits so relaxing and also the service is amazing too. myself and my husband have been coming to the Idle Rocks each year since 2018, it's truly one of our favourite places to be we always stay in the same room, one of the Grand Seaview ones, as it's so spacious and luxurious, with stunning views over the water and St Mawes. as always when we arrive we got a warm welcome. as we were early we nipped over the way to the St Mawes Deli to get some of Jon's amazing baguettes! then sat near the hotel to have lunch. we then returned, our bags quickly taken to our room for us and we relaxed in the lounge with a tea and coffee. Immediately feeling relaxed and at home we spent some of the afternoon in our room, enjoying a bath and bottle of Cornish Sparkling wine before going down for dinner. As always the service and food was excellent during dinner. id arranged for a birthday cake to be made for my husband and they brought it out as id asked at the end of the meal and it was wonderful! there were unfortunately a couple of niggles with our room on this stay, with the shower and the heating, but Lydia and the team helped as much as they could to try and ensure the issues were dealt with and there was minimum impact to our stay. These things happen and we think how they're dealt with is what's key. the 2nd night, we had dinner at the Rising Sun opposite the hotel, excellent food and service so we'd recommend a visit if you enjoy some hearty and tasty pub grub we enjoyed some cocktails at the bar during our stay. Joe is great at making cocktails so thank you! we also chatted to Eric who was part of the restaurant team, lovely chap! all the staff are lovely that we meet at the Idle Rocks at each visit / stay. So once again, a great stay. 2025 booking already made! a extra mention to Lydia, Stuart, Izzy and Yvonne who looked after us so well with any issues or queries we had. Thank you everyone for yet another wonderful stay.

Lovely hotel in a fabulous location. Staff very friendly and helpful. Excellent food. Our room was exactly as per picture and had the sea lapping under the window when the tide was in. A nice range of shops and alternative places to eat to walk to nearby.

This is our 4th visit to this wonderful hotel. Fantastic service. Big up to Lydia, Liam and Dan the pen! And all the lovely kind staff. Beautiful setting, great food and a comfortable retreat from real life! Hey, its summer in a teriffic place. There will be noise... but NOTHING beats waking up and hearing the sea lapping below your window and drifting back to sleep, or looking out at the sunset/ sunrise from your room or on the terrace.. NOTHING.

We really enjoyed our two night stay at Idle Rocks. The hotel is ideally situated- just a short walk to the pub, restaurants, shops and ferry. Our room was large, with a comfortable bed and wonderful view of the harbor below. Unlike some other older hotels at Idle Rocks we did not hear noise from adjacent or upstairs rooms. Breakfast were very good. Two minor negatives- 1. the towel rack in our bathroom did not work. I only wish I’d found out before we washed our our hiking clothes and 2. the front desk personnel were young and disengaged.

We had a grand seaview room which was quiet. Room was rather small but fairly comfortable. Would have preferred a sitting area instead of the large tub. The reception was always very attentive and helpful. The food in the restaurant was simple but good. Breakfast choice was ok but not overwhelming. Just the service on the terrace was rather slow.

Das Essen im Restaurant ist au?ergew?hnlich. Ich hatte ein Signature Menue mit sieben G?ngen für 115€. Die Qualit?t war hervorragend, die Zusammenstellung sehr kreativ und gelungen. Lediglich dass nicht ein Fischgericht wenigstens noch etwas glasig war, k?nnte man bem?ngeln. Ansonsten war alles ausgezeichnet. Das Personal war überaus freundlich und bemüht, hier fehlt aber für ein Restaurant dieser Kategorie definitiv das Fachwissen um das Handling. In letzter Sekunde konnte ich noch darauf hinweisen, dass ich den Champagner gerne probieren würde, bevor er meiner Begleitung eingeschenkt wurde. Die Flasche falsch gehalten, was allerdings keiner der Kellnerinnen und Kellner beherrschte. Das richtige Besteck korrekt einzudecken, war auch nicht m?glich gewesen. Die G?nge kamen in viel zu hohem Tempo, um eine Pause mussten wir geradezu betteln. Die Gl?ser wurden zu voll eingeschenkt uvm. Das sind aber alles Probleme, deren Ursache beim Gesch?ftsführer zu suchen sind, denn das Personal war wie schon gesagt, sehr flei?ig. Die Weinkarte war sehr gut. Letztlich war ich ein wenig entt?uscht, da ich zu dem Preis noch mehr erwartet hatte und durfte. W?re es 25% günstiger, oder h?tte man dem Personal eine Schulung geg?nnt, die fünf Punkte w?ren.
