The guest house was beautifully cleaned and decorated, the room was comfortable and had everything you could possibly need. Colin ( the owner) was lovely and very knowledgeable about the area. The breakfast was plentiful and very nicely cooked. I would definitely recommend and we will stay here again
Lovely stay at the cottage Colin was very friendly, approachable & helpful. Even offered to help us off the drive which was a lovely touch Breakfast was lovely Bed was really comfy and the room was cosy Close to the lake and easy to get around the rest of the lakes
Simple accommodation in a good location. Colin was very welcoming and friendly. We were appreciative of a late check-in time and a convenient car-parking space. However, we could not recommend this accommodation due to the obvious damp issue. Our room smelt incredibly damp with black mould on the walls, in both the bedroom and bathroom. All our clothing and bags had to be washed once home, due to the smell. We unfortunately won’t be staying here again.
Not been to Landing Cottage for about Five years now due to my Wife's medical issues, covid etc. During this time, my wife has become disabled and has trouble getting around, no problems here as there is a ground floor room which has En-Suite and easy access if you park your car further up the drive. The Host, Colin has not changed! He is still very attentive and cannot do enough for you which is good. The room was clean, functional, had a smart TV, Kettle, King size Bed which was very comfortable and views to the Garden and an En-Suite Bathroom which my wife had no issues using. The Breakfast was as great as it has always been, Two thick slices of Bacon, Two Sausage, Tomato, Egg (served in various ways), Baked Beans, Mushrooms and a Smiley Face Potato Fritter just adds to the welcoming touch of this Guest House. Toast is also served with the option of Gluten Free if you have Coelics too. Overall Landing Cottage deserves a high rating what with Colins warm, inviting personality, Parking for Four or Five cars, Clean functional Rooms and of course Landing Cottage is in a great position being near to so many venues including, Stott Park Bobbin Mill, Hawkshead, Lakeland Motor Museum, Haverthwaite Railway, Grange over sands and Cartmel. You must visit!
Stayed for 2 nights at landing cottage. It was very pleasant and fantastic value for money. The room was very cosy and clean! The location is wonderful as it’s just a short walk from the lake which has ferry rides and an aquarium. Colin was a fantastic and accommodating host. He even made breakfast half an hour early for us on the Saturday as our activity started very early. I would give 5 stars and definitely would come back next time we visit!
Colin was great and helpful, guided us through the local area. Breakfast was lovely with full English, cereal, yoghurt/fresh fruit and fruit juice options. Set in an ideal location, we will definitely be returning
Lovely little cottage. Nice room with very comfortable bed. Breakfast was delicious and the host was very nice and helpful. It's a very short walk along the road to Lakeside Landing, where you can catch one of the boats that sail up Windermere or the steam train to Haverthwaite. There's also the lakes Aquarium and cafe or the Lakeside Hotel for lunch. It's the ideal place to explore the Lake District from and very reasonable rates. Would definitely stay again.
Ideally situated for a 100 metre walk to the lake, it is a good place to stay. Colin the host is very pleasant and helpful. The breakfast was of good quality and plenty of choice. Our room was of a reasonable size with a good bed and ample space for clothes. It was clean with a lovely outlook. The let down was the en-suite. It was nowhere near the quality of the rest of the property. Overall I wouls stay again but it is rather tired in certain areas.
Stayed here for five nights and really enjoyed it, the room was cosy, warm and spotless as was the ensuite shower room, plenty of hot water, and very comfortable bed, breakfast was excellent with great choice of cereals and great fruit salad and yogurt, plenty of parking space and a great location, Colin the owner was pleasant and helpful, and we couldn't fault anything, we will certainly stay here again and for the prise we paid in the lake district it was excellent .Thank you Colin.
Lovely one night stay at Landing Cottage. Friendly and helpful host and a lovely decorated room. Slept like a log and enjoyed our full English breakfast with added smiley face! Would definitely stay here again If you’re eating out in Bowness, head to the oldest pub there - ‘The Hole in t’wall’. Had a fabulous Ploughman’s lunch here - enough for two to share!
