The Seventh Heaven Hotel (Qichongtian Binguan) is located right on Nanjing East Road, close to Shanghai's historic Bund district and People's Square. It is approximately 40 minutes' drive from Hongqiao Airport and 70 minutes from Pudong Airport.Built in 1932 by a pair of entrepreneurial brothers, Guo Le and Guo Quan, the 19 story hotel was once the highest building in the city and housed one of the most luxurious ballrooms in Shanghai. Today neither building nor hotel occupy quite such a lofty position in Shanghai society but the hotel's 57 guestrooms are tastefully decorated with a nod to its heyday in the form of vintage style lamps and Art Deco inspired flourishes. Combined with its excellent location and reasonable prices, this is a great value option with a touch of old Shanghai.The grand ballroom has been converted into a restaurant called Old Shanghai serving contemporary Chinese cuisine using seasonal ingredients.Recreational facilities include a beauty salon, disco and massage center.
